In February 1992, Juantorena,  World Champion and Olympic Winner in 400 and 800 meters and  Maria Caridad Colon,  First Latin American Gold Medal Winner in javeline with Olympic record, were invited to the activities on the occasion of the X Anniversary of Cayo Largo del Sur.   During their stay they shared with the workers and participated in a marathon organized as  part of the event.
