Turtle breeding

As part of the conservation and protection programs of the natural resources
of the Cayo Largo del Sur Tourism resort is the marine turtle project. Three types of
these creatures reproduce in the months of April and September: the Loggerhead turtle, the
Green Turtle and the Hawksbill Turtle. There is a turtle breeding farm located in the
tourist resort and among the conservation projects is the collection of nests from the
most vulnerable beaches and their transfer to the farm where the eggs are incubated. Once
the baby turtles are born they are freed in their natural environment.
