The Colony Hotel was inaugurates in December 1958. It is located at Km 42 of the Carretera de Siguane, 77 rooms, 2 of which are suites, 6 semi-suites, and 24 three- person bungalows, all of which are air-conditioned, with sea views, radio, refrigerator, en suite bathroom and telephone. In addition there is a
fresh water swimming pool, showers, bathrooms, sun loungers, cover, music and
entertainment activities. In reception there are safe-deposit boxes, wake up call
services, rent-a-car and credit card facilities. There are sports areas, tennis,
volleyball court, front tennis and a basketball court . Additional facilities are also on offer: laundry, shop, tourism information office and public relations office. The International Diving Center has offered its services since 1978 in the Punta Francés area. Included amongst these are diving courses for different levels with the award of different internationally recognized certificates, excursions, seafaris, snorkeling and the organization of international events in underwater photography. The Colony forms part
of the setting known internationally as Punta Francés National Marine Park which is the
training base for the distinguished Cuban immersion diver, Deborah Andollo. |
